Everyday Tools for Spiritual Growth

Humans have a twofold capacity in the mind to reason for desired outcomes as well as to connect with beauty already ultimate in its inherent value. Spirituality is the experience of being connected with the awe of beauty and its Source. The Source is admittedly more powerful and wondrous than human capacity, adding grace to our daily living if we are open to that grace. This section is about understanding how you can access that grace or become more aware of its presence in your life.

If you engage in one or more of the following experiences, you will benefit from the grace of your spiritual Source.

  • Attitude: Open and willing attitude to connect with your spiritual Source. You control your mental attitude; switch to Source or remain on self-powered.
  • Gratitude: maintaining and reviewing our list of things we are grateful for in this life: in the midst of a troubled mind, one can nonetheless think about the good things you appreciate.
  • Service: helping others to accomplish their needs: If I help another, I feel better about myself and I have made a difference in someone else’s life.
  • Common Good: Be part of a group whose mission is to contribute to the betterment of the greater good. Join a group that is improving the world or community.
  • Meditate: Be still and quiet, empty your mind of life’s responsibilities for 15 minutes. Give your list of burdens over to your Source and ask for guidance.
  • Share with the Divine during your day. Keep an open channel throughout the day with your Source.
  • Pray to know your spiritual Source’s will for you today and give way when the opportunity occurs.
  • Let go and let others; control dampens motivation of others wanting to help.
  • Expect miracles (the Divine doing for you what you can’t do for yourself) every day.
  • Who are the saints in your life? Keep a running list.
  • Ask for help.

This list is not complete. We are happy to hear from you when you wish to share your experiences of belonging to your spiritual realm. Have a group of friends with whom you can share the gifts of grace.
